<p>用作抗阿米巴药、防腐药、金属螯合剂、阳离子分析试剂。双碘喹啉以及喹碘仿、氯碘喹啉都是卤化8-羟喹啉类肠道内抗阿米巴药,对阿米巴痢疾有效,对肠道外阿米巴原虫无影响。近年国外报道本类药物能引起亚急性脊髓视神经病,故在日本和美国已禁用。但双碘喹啉引起此病比氯碘喹啉较少见。</p>
