in xylene solid 2,3-Me2-2,3-C2B9H9 added to o-xylene soln. of Fe-complex, stirredfor 24 h; solvent removed under vac., residue dissolved in THF and chromd. on alumina column; elem. anal.;

in pentane excess solid naphthalene added to stirred soln. of Fe-complex in pentane, stirred for 15 min, 2,3-Me2-2,3-C2B9H9 in pentane added and stirred for 8 h; solid eluted with pentane from alumina column, solvent removed under vac., (Fe(C5H5)2) removed by vac. sublimation at 35°C, residue dissolved in THF and cooled to -20°C; elem. anal.;
