in tetrahydrofuran byproducts: NaCl, PhCN; (N2), soln. of the Mn-complex added to a cooled (-78°C) and stirred soln. of the Pd-complex, dppm added after 0.25 h, temp. raised to ambient, further stirred for 6 h, filtered, impregnated on silica gel, evapd. to dryness; chromd. on silica gel, Mn2(CO)10, PhCN eluted (pentane), Mn2(CO)8(dppm) eluted (pentane/toluene (2:1)), MnCl(CO)3(dppm) and PdMn-complex eluted toluene/THF (95:5)), recrystd. from THF/n-hexane and CH2Cl2/n-hexane, MnCl(CO)3(dppm) further eluted with THF;
