in pentane byproducts: H2, KCl, C(CH3)4; under Ar, a tube charged with complex in C5H12 was connected to a flaskcontaining ClP(C6H5)2 in C5H12, the soln. of ligand was cooled to -45°C, then combined, the mixt. was warmed to 25°C and stirred for 2 d; the mixt. was filtered, the C5H12 was removed under vac., KCl was isolated; the pentane-sol. solid was sublimed at 90-115°C giving the adduct; the residue was recrystd. from C5H12 at -30°C leading to the ((CH3)3CCH2)2InP(C6H5)2;
