Na in tetrahydrofuran; toluene Na (0.1 mol) was suspended in toluene and a soln. of N-methylacetamide (0.1 mol) in THF was added; the mixt. was heated under Ar for 24 h; addn.of Ge-contg. compd. (0.1 mol); the mixt. was heated for 4 h; the volatiles were removed in vac., the residue was distd. and fraction with b.p. 90-95°C (1 mm Hg) was collected; detd. by (1)H NMR spectra studies;
